We’re just a 10 minute walk through a wooded walkway down to the sea and beach at lovely Alum Chine, which is just west of Bournemouth. From the seafront you can stroll Eastwards to Bournemouth pier in 20 minutes (with plenty of eating places along the way) or walk West to Sandbanks and Poole. Westbourne’s Shopping Arcade, cafes and pubs are just a 2 minute level walk.

We’re less than a mile from Bournemouth town centre with all its night life, 2 theatres (the Bournemouth International Conference Centre BIC and Pavilion), shops, gardens and golf. Hurn International Airport is just 7 miles, Poole ferries, town, harbour, quay and Poole Pottery are 4miles away and the Westbourne Academy (School of English) is right by us. An ideal location for a cosy stress-free weekend or short break!

There are various exhibitions throughout the year at the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, the Red House Museum at Christchurch and The Lighthouse Centre at Poole.  From 29th June to 16th September there is a special exhibition of Marcus Adams' royal portraiture at the Russell-Cotes Museum & Art Gallery at Bournemouth seafront.

Fridays? - Well, last night we happened to stumble across quite a few local VW campervan and Beatle owners showing off their weird, wonderful and brightly painted little darlins all along Poole Quay so maybe its a Friday thing? (we'll keep you posted on that one)

In 2012 Britain hosts the Olympic Games! and Bournemouth is one of 66 evening celebration locations across the UK ... From 27th July to 12th August the Olympic Games and from 29th August to 9th September the Paralympic Games take place at London and Weymouth.  Here in Bournemouth we will get to see the Olympic Torch on its journey and arrive in town on Friday 13th July when activities and a stage show are being planned to show the best of Bournemouth and in the evening a dazzling night of entertainment is planned on the beach!  On 14th July the torch leaves Bournemouth for its onward journey.  For further details/tickets info visit www.bournemouth.gov.uk/london2012 or www.bournemouth.co.uk
